Attendance and time
Attendance policies
Grace periods, half-day thresholds, late marks and what a missing punch means.
Open this in the appHow a day is decided
For each day, the platform takes the punches, the shift, the policy, and any holiday, weekly off or approved leave, and produces a status and a payable-days figure. Every rule that fired is recorded alongside the result.
That breakdown is visible on the record. When someone asks why they were marked half day, the answer is on screen rather than in someone's memory.
Thresholds
Half-day and full-day thresholds can be set as a percentage of the scheduled shift or as fixed hours. Percentage is usually right when teams work different shift lengths; fixed hours is clearer when everyone works the same day.
Below the half-day threshold, the day is an absence.
Late marks and grace
A grace period forgives arrivals within a few minutes of the shift start. Beyond it, the day gets a late mark. You can set a number of late marks that together cost half a day, and separately make a very late arrival a half day on its own.
Missing punches
Someone punches in and forgets to punch out. You decide what that means: treat the day as present, absent, half day, or leave it pending until it is corrected. The default is pending, because it is the only option that does not silently decide something a person should look at.
Employees can raise a correction request from their portal, and the day is recalculated once it is approved.
There is a guided walkthrough for this
Sign in and open Help, then ask about this feature. The walkthrough drives the real screens and fills the real form as you answer its questions — it is not a video or a slideshow.
